Love this Ringy! So true, Cold is the chilly essence that allows us to bear witness to the raw power of Nature and that we must adapt to in order to survive and thrive XO
Thanks for the international comparison of word numbers for ice. I remember feeling sorry for my car in Minnesota winters, that I expected it to start and even operate.
thank you!! me and the cold have a love/hate relationship that leans toward the latter so i thought it would help if I spoke of Cold lovingly for a moment hehe
It's 9:00 am in my part of Australia and already 27 degrees C (80 F), even though it's been raining, so it's hard to imagine the cold where you are.... Stay warm!
I love your perspective on winter! Gives me the sisu I need to face this year's cold days ahead. I will certainly try my darnedest to keep the positive vibes.
I should also mention that I adore your description of putting on more clothing like it is battle armor. So we'll put!
hoping the cold is kind to you this year, too!! we have the Sisu within to get us through heheh <3 thanks so much for reading! the battle armour vibes are so real lately ahah SO MANY LAYERS
Beautiful, sonja. Thanks for teaching me about sisu. My undergrad advisor was Finnish. Remarkable guy. He had a slight accent but he was so attuned to the sound of language that he could turn on like a Midwestern American accent. Cute pup!
Thanks for reading, Mike! Sisu is a really cool concept to dive into.. I love how in other languages there will be one word for something that, in English, is a whole sentence or multiple sentences.. fascinating. The Finnish accent is so unique! I love that ur advisor was able to turn on the midwest accent ahahah that’s impressive. my mom to this day struggles to pronounce some English words like “iron” for example ahaha
Sisu is all I have.
it’s so important <3

i feel sorry for your car in Minnesota now too (rip car). i think capitalism shouldn’t expect humans to start or operate in winter either lmaoooo
It probably predates capitalism. :) The ages of kings and pharaohs and emperors?
True… human existence in general ⚰️
this is wondrous and enchanting, i love it x
oh my gosh that’s so kind of you! thank you!
this is beautiful!!
