Yep, Sonja. That about sums it up…

Pretty much how I feel here in Australia.

Now we have to work out what we do next…

Best Wishes - Dave:)

Thanks Dave!! What’s going on down under currently? I lived there when I was 18 but that was way back in 2010. Sending u all the best!

Hey Sonja. Oh! That makes you at least a part Aussie too (where were you living?), but what I like about your writing is that you are 100% human. In this AI world I'm starting to wonder when the Bots will pass the poetry Turing test....

Hey - I just Subscribed. Only the free Sub for now. I do apologise - I have run up my current quota of paid Subs, but I do like your writing, and I will come back to this.

What's on down under? Well..... Summer looms over us like a big warm wave about to break. It's heading for 30 degree C here today, so around 86 F. Which is why I've written a few beach poems recently. Today is a quiet day on our riverbank though, with our Daughter visiting, along with Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Rainbow Lorikeets and Water Dragon lizards - patrolling the garden like mini dinosaurs.

Hope your day/evening/night is beautiful !

Best Wishes - Dave :)

Oh my god your description of the warmth and the creatures there is giving me life!! It’s currently -15 celsius in Calgary Alberta where I live.. it hurts my skin to go outside! It’s only gonna get colder. I love the tropical critters in Australia, the way there are the most gorgeous parrots just flying about.

I was living in Byron Bay mostly (before it became an influencer mecca lol! Just a bunch of hippies then) and did a stint in Bondi beach and then went up to Ayr Queensland to do farming. It was such an amazing year!

Thanks so much for subscribing :D

Brrrr! Sonja!! That is cold.... Apologies - but it's another beach day here. I feel bad saying it...

We live on the Clarence River, a bit upstream from Yamba, so we are only about 90 minutes drive from Byron. And yeah - it used to be a Nice place, but we avoid it now. Our little village of about 150 people is like the town time forgot....

Live every day in awe no matter where or who you are because one day it'll be the end and you know what grandpa once said, "life has a way of filling your plate back up even when you think you're full."

Yeah, he also once said "it's better than a sharp rock to the side of the head" whenever something didn't go as expected.
