poem from the liminal space

[airports/airplanes]

i’m currently on day two of traveling to Spain! day one consisted of driving 5 hours to Kelowna, BC aka the closest reliable airport to my house. myself, my boyfriend and our two dogs drove & drove and then i “slept” in a hostel [top bunk] before my morning flight today.

i write to you now from the Montreal International Airport.. i have about 30 minutes until i board my overnight flight to Barcelona. but i wanted to share with you a poem & some thoughts i scribbled into my phone during the flight to Montreal earlier today! ✈️

WIDE-EYED AND WILDER

almost stuffed your heart

into my carry-on luggage but

that was the old me. music tastes

sweeter thirty thousand feet above

patchwork prairie quilt, i host

a staring contest with clouds and

nearly win. in my blood a

tendency to disappear, to find

myself in the glint of foreign salt,

to return wide-eyed

and wilder.
